In the online world, there are no end of scams. Some of them are outright illegal and the obvious ones are those email money scams. However, there are some scams which are legal by law and the people who are suckered into them end up wasting their time, money and effort.

Bad news! There are no official authority to stop them, maybe except you! You can do your part to avoid them and you will be safe without getting scammed. Sometimes when you do get scammed into buying a crappy product, you can still get a refund so it is not too bad.

In some cases, you fail to get your refund and you lose a little money. Usually, you will be able to get a refund and you still end up wasting your precious time.

Yes, It Is Your Fault

In many sales letters, you will find the publisher assuring you that it is not your fault. I am so sorry to tell you the harsh truth that it is totally your fault! In the search of your magic bullet and easy button, you got scammed into buying information and software that does not help you in your business.

Most people who got scam deserved it because they are lazy, greedy and they want easy money. I used to be such a victim when I first started out, I am glad that I have repented! Since there will always be greedy and lazy people, there will always be more than enough easy targets for scam artists.

Selling The Sizzle Without The Steak

You might have heard of the term, selling the sizzle and not the steak. Some people came up with their own perverted version of this statement when they sell the sizzle without the steak, they are known to us as scam artists. The sizzle looks really cool but it can never fulfill your hunger.

In internet marketing, it is safer for you to only trust people who are in at least 1 other niche outside internet marketing. If you learn from people who do nothing but internet marketing then you are as good as eating up their regurgitated vomit! Yucks!

Not only in internet marketing, other markets such as currency trading, there are many people who has never traded who are teaching others how to trade. Take a closer look, they are making money promoting the program not by actual trading. There is no difference from network marketing scam artists.

Ethical Affiliate Marketing?

Does that mean that if you want to be an ethical affiliate, you should not promote something that you do not know about? Yes and no, either way you can do it ethically with complete integrity…..

For example, if you are promoting some money making program and you are a beginner, you can show your own progress then recommend the program. You can also position yourself as someone who always test programs to make sure that they work. Either way, you can write honest reviews before you do a recommendation.

When you are new to a topic, take time to learn more about it. If you can, implement what you learn and show your personal proof and results. People are not stupid and they can tell if you are fake so no point trying to fake it.

Not An Expert?

Have you considered teaming up with an expert? Let him or her be the face of the business while you do the marketing behind the scenes, your cut would depend on your arrangement. You leverage on the expertise of someone and someone leverage on your marketing efforts, sounds like a fair deal?

I have done this more than once, where I do almost everything while the expert only have to produce quality content. In a particular case, I have ownership and majority share of the business. In another case, I do very little work and I also get a much smaller percentage of the profits.

I started out writing this post so that I can warn you about some scams and help you avoid them. First of all, stop looking for instant profits or easy magic buttons because they do not exist.

Instead, start learning about how a real business works then put to work what you know. Complete your projects and tasks 1 step at a time, remember to test and tweak as you go along.

What the heck is Presell Secrets X? If you have been in the internet marketing circles for awhile, you know that many people like to add the word X at the back of their products. Before you make any decision, you must read this. Yes, you must read this review so that you can make a good decision.

Using Pen Names…..”

A great way to bond with your target audience is none other than to create a character with a persona just like them. This way of bonding will make it so much easier for them to relate to you and this will also make it a lot easier for them to trust you. As you know, trust might be the very best conversion booster of all…..

When it comes to marketing online, you can enter any market place you want and you can be anybody you want. You need to create a character with a pen name because every business needs a face. When there is a character with a face, your business is more personal unlike those cold corporate websites.

If your target audience is made up of mainly women with babies and you happen to be a man with a super thick white beard, you really need to use a pen name. On the other hand if your audience is made up of mainly younger men under 30 and you are a woman with white hair, you also need a pen name.

Select Your Pen Name

When selecting pen names, use common names that people can remember. Google the pen name which you are about to use to ensure there is no bad press. It would be terrible if your pen name is a name of a wanted serial killer or somebody like that.

To make your pen name appear more like a real person, go buy a photo from some stock photo site. Modify the face a little to make it more unique. When choosing photos, make sure it is not too good looking like some glamorous fashion model, also not too ugly like some sort of frankenstein.

Protect Your Pen Name

When you sell your own products with PayPal or ClickBank, your account name or payee name which is your real name would be shown when someone makes a purchase. Use your company name instead of your real name. This will make it harder for your competitors to spy on your best markets.

If you use Ezine Articles, create separate accounts for each pen name. When you sell your business, you can sell your character, your pen name and almost everything that comes with it including the your Ezine Articles account. Who knows you might be able to sell it a higher price because you did this.

Do consider buying the domain name of your pen name if it is available then use it to redirect to the site associated with that name. It is also a good idea to have only 1 market associated with 1 character rather than having a character who is into way too many unrelated markets.

Character Disclaimer

I am NOT telling you to misrepresent yourself or tell lies! Do not create a pen name of some doctor or professor when you do not have the real credentials. Many book authors have pen names, if they can do that, so can you and I.
