You can customize how the video appears, including size, and you can even set it to auto play. This is ideal for landing pages!

Note: This plugin is not perfect and it has some minor issues. As long as you do not touch the default settings, it will work fine.

Remove the dates of your blog posts by editing your theme so that people will always think that your content is fresh. When your blog post date is there, even if your content is evergreen, people will still think is it not updated.

Here is where many people get confused and the question you need to answer here is….. Which market or niche do you want to enter?

Many people, especially the ‘gurus’ and ‘bloggers’ really confuse us when it comes to research. To put it as simple as possible, just sell stuff that people want to buy. Once again, it is not about what they need but what they want because people pay a little for what they really need and pay a lot more for what they want.

All you need is reliable Korean-made car to get around but you still want to buy an European-made coupe. I can play a ordinary off-the-shelf electric guitar but I actually own a self-assembled electric guitar modified with hard-to-find expensive parts. You see the difference between need and want?

Hot Markets

Hot markets are more obvious than you think and because of that it tends to be more competitive. Though the quantity of the competition is a lot, the quality might be a lot lower than you expect!

Hot markets are also BIG markets, which means there is more traffic for you to acquire. Reality is….. more traffic usually means more money to make, no traffic surely means no money.

Always think about benefits before products and services. Here are some evergreen benefits that people REALLY want…..

• looking good (weight loss, skin care, teeth whitening, hair growth, etc)
• feeling great (self-improvement, subliminal, hypnosis, relaxation, etc)
• meaningful relationships (dating, parenting, family, communication, etc)
• more money (business, finance, investment, trading, gambling, betting, etc)
• hobbies and sports (photography, dancing, singing, guitar, golf, tennis, etc)

Think along this line and you would have no end of good markets to choose from, instead not knowing where to start. For a start you might want to narrow your focus to a smaller topic within a hot market and expanding it later on.

Audience And Conversation

Start thinking about who, (your audience), you want to sell to before you think of what, (products and services), you want to sell them. What conversation topics are going on in the minds of your audience? What are they thinking about most of the time? What are they discussing with other people on forums, social networks such as FaceBook, MySpace, etc.

Good examples would be, people who want to lose weight are usually women of a certain age, people who play golf are usually men of a certain age with a certain level of income.

Keyword Research

You can start thinking of a few very general keywords related to your market. Such as dating, weight loss, skin care, make money, dogs, cats, etc. Simply entering your main keywords Google Keywords Tool…..

• Set your match type to phrase.

Look at the results and you will get a good idea of other related keywords people are searching for.

• Enter some related keywords and set your match type to exact.

Now you not only have a set of highly-related keywords, you also got search numbers for the exact keywords.

There are many more ideas to generate laser-targeted keywords and we would discuss further, later on.

Domain Selection Tips

Make sure it has an important keyword in it. It must memorable, easy to spell, no hyphen, no digits, .com if possible. Do not use the in front of your domain because most people will forget to type it and you end up giving away traffic to someone else.

If you have a word in your domain that have both singular and pural, get both of them. Such as www.NicheTopicBook.com / www.NicheTopicSite.com, you should also get www.NicheTopicBooks.com / www.NicheTopicSites.com, then redirect the pural version to the singular version.

If you do not do it, someone else will get a similar domain as yours and probably take some of your traffic away from you. Still no idea what domain to choose? Just go to NameBoy or DomainsBot to get some ideas.

Web Hosting Tips

Choose only web hosting plans with cpanel, unlimited addon domains and unlimited MySQL database. As you grow your business, you might end up with many more domain names, MySQL is usually needed for installing important scripts like your tracking scripts, WordPress and much more, Cpanel has a very user-friendly interface.

Forget about the easy way to install WordPress using fantastico because you will be shown the best way to do it. (Hint: It is simpler than you think!) If you do not want to do it yourself, you can get your webmaster to do it for you. If you do not have a webmaster, I can do it for you, just contact me on the contact page.

Authority Blueprint X requires you to keep on building your site till you think it is enough, Minisite Formula recommends that you build your site, forget it and move on fast.

Conclusion

If you follow Authority Blueprint X, each site will take you about 2 hours to build, (though I can do it under an hour). Minisite Formula style of sites would take you 30 minutes, (though I have a way to do it under 15 minutes).

Authority Blueprint X sites has better SEO qualities because they rank better and faster than minisites. I personally find it easier to manage few sites, (authority sites), than to manage hundreds of sites (minisites).

I usually start off by building my authority sites, after they are proven to convert, I would build minisites and link them back to my main authority site.

Visual And HTML

	You can edit your pages with WYSIWYG mode.
	You can also edit your pages with HTML mode.

Updating WordPress

WordPress is ever-improving and they keep coming up with newer, better and more secure versions.

Whenever there is a new version, you would see an indicator on the top of the page and you would know that it is time for an update.

You can update it easily and conveniently without any downtime. You do not even have to upload any files using your FTP software.

Click on the link that says Please update now. Then click on the button that says Update Automatically. You are done with updating!

Updating Plugins

WordPress plugins (modules) are also ever-improving and the developers keep coming up with newer and better versions. Whenever you see an indicator on your sidebar, you know there are new versions available.

You can even update many plugins all at once. Go to Dashboard and click on Update. Check the Select All box and click on Update Plugins.

Automatic Backups

Select Database and click on DB Options. Set how often you want to back up and save it.

WordPress User Profile

Here is where you can change your password and edit your profile. You can also add additional users. This is very useful when you want to give your staff or free lancers access.

Comment Spam Protection

This is easy….. when you just installed WordPress, you would see this.

You would be asked to enter an API key.

Click on the link, get your WordPress API key, enter it and you are done. Each key can be used for unlimited number of blogs as you want.

Now that you have installed WordPress, you just need some custom settings and it will optimized to perform at the optimum level. These settings and plugins have been tested over time and they still work very well as of today. Login to WordPress: http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin

Select your theme.	Customize the settings.

Click on settings (left side bar), we shall set it all up right now…..

• Permalinks:

First and most important setting is none other than permalinks, select custom structure, add this /%postname% in and save it.

• Writing (Update Services):

Click on writing, scroll down and you will see update services, delete everything in there and save it.

• Headspace Page Modules:

Click on page modules.

Drag all the following modules into simple:
- Page Title
- Page Description
- Tags
- Meta-Robots
- Raw Data
- Raw Footer Data
- JavaScript
- Stylesheets
- Page-Specific Template

• Headspace Page Settings:

Click on page settings.

Click on the following settings to expand them:
- Search Pages
- 404 Page
- Attachment Pages
- Login Pages

Check no follow and no index and save them individually.

• Contact Form:

Add your email address, add this code, , on your post or page where you want it to appear. Add it with HTML mode, not visual mode.

• DDSitemapGen:

Add this code, , on your post or page where you want it to appear. Add it with HTML mode, not visual mode.

• DDSig:

Add this code, , on your post or page where you want it to appear. Add it with HTML mode, not visual mode. You can also choose to have it automatically appear on all posts or all pages.

WordPress Theme Optimization

You can also download these 2 themes (for landing pages) which are already optmized. In short, I use Ariel fonts for main text and either Impact font or Tahoma font for headings because it is easy to read on screen.

You can edit your footer.php and header.php. You can also choose to add or edit header links and footer links. They already have 3 links, yourdomain.com/contact, yourdomain.com/privacy-policy, yourdomain.com/disclaimer, so remember to create the pages.

Login to your cpanel.

Uploading .htaccess

.htaccess must be uploaded in ASCII mode. Most other files should be uploaded in binary mode.

Take your WordPress Zip File, extract the zip file. Edit wp-config.php, you can open it with NotePad or WordPad and add your MySQL database, username and password into it.

Here is a quick tip to improve the security of your WordPress installation by updating your secret key.

The code looks like this:

Go to WordPress Secret Key Generator, copy the secret key and paste it. If you want a different key, just refresh the page.

After editing your wp-config.php, upload everything into the folder. The themes that you download from here are already modified to load fast, however you must upload into a root folder, yourdomain.com.

Do NOT upload the themes into sub-domains (sub.yourdomain.com) or sub-folders (yourdomain.com/folder). If you are unsure how to upload files, check out this file manager tutorial.

MySQL Database

Create MySQL database and MySQL user. Add MySQL user to database. Remember to select all privileges. Give your database and user the same name so that you will not get confused later on. If you are unsure how to create MySQL, here is a MySQL tutorial.

Installation

Now you are ready to install. Go to www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin and start your installation. Once done, delete install.php (inside wp/admin) and the zip file. Your installation is done!
