First, I cannot comment on legal issues because I am not a lawyer. Ad for ethical issues, it is all up to you.

If you need to pretend to be a young boy when you are an old man then you might be in the wrong market.

Writing about fictional experiences are not recommended. True stories are genuine and they work better even when they are not spectacular.

Just how much, if any, can my fictional character relate fictional experiences and personal knowledge of a subject without crossing the line, ethical or legal?

Can an elderly man create a character of a young boy to sell skate board advice and write about 'how he just learned a cool trick yesterday'? Or have that character encourage trust by writing 'I saved $50 on my skateboard by building my own' when in fact, no skateboard was built!

Just wondering if there was a legal or ethical problem with writing about personal, fictional experiences that are intended to develop trust and endorse an idea.

Thanks.
