“Boost Your Conversions
By Building Trust…..”

Integrity is the foundation of all long term profitable businesses. This is why you must focus on building trust. Trust is no easy feat, it takes time to build, however, it takes just a few moments to destroy. Trust building is an on-going business process rather than a task which you do it once and you forget about it.

You are about to discover how you can boost your leads and sales conversions simply by building trust. It is really simpler than you think…..

Higher Trust = Higher Conversions

As much as persuasion strategies are very important, without trust, it will not stand. If you are interested in persuasion strategies, you can look at these 2 blog posts.

4 Covert Persuasion Triggers

5 Covert Persuasion Triggers

1 more benefit of trust building….. when you are seen as a more trustworthy business, you can raise prices and people will still be glad to buy from you! They will not even bother to compare your offer with your direct or even indirect competitors!

If you are in an industry or market place where you appear to be very highly trusted, you can end up making your competitors look like scams when compared to you, even though they are not scams! Just that you are more trustworthy. This is the law of contrast and comparison at work.

How To Be Trusted

First and foremost, be trustworthy, do not pretend or simply put up a false front, never mislead others, especially with your words in the form of ads, emails, blogs, articles, videos and such. When someone pays you for your product, deliver to them and do it fast, at least, deliver it on time.

Always deliver your promise or over deliver if you can. Do what you say you will do. For example, in the titles of your ads, articles and blog posts, your email subject lines are like your promise, your body content is where you deliver on your promise.

Trustworthy Business

Here are a few simple ways to show others that your business is a business that they can trust. The other benefit you get is that, it will also help you to boost your Google AdWords quality score, resulting in lower cost per click.

Privacy Page:
Having a privacy policy page shows that you are a real business. Use simple words so that it is easy to read and understand.

About Page:
Be real, be honest, be candid, so that people can easily relate to you and bond with you. Such bonding leads to instant rapport and trust.

Contact Page:
Allow others to contact you through a web form. Do not use emails like noreply@yourdomain.com because it makes you appear cold and distant.

Trust Builds Confidence

Many consumers have been scammed online and you need to build their confidence so that you can get them to take an action such as entering your email or their credit card number. You can do that by adding a few elements of trust near your conversion area such as opt-in area or order area.

Privacy Statement
Near your opt-in area, you can add an privacy statement that assures people that you will protect their privacy, this will boost your leads conversions.

Security Statement
Near your order area, you can add credit card and PayPal logos, (add logos of FedEx, UPS, DHL if relevant), this will boost your sales conversions.

As Seen On
Have your business been featured on radio, television, magazines, print media? Maybe some popular websites, such as news sites? Add their logos to boost your credibility.

Business Seals
Near your opt-in area or order area, you can add some business seals such as Better Business Bureau Online, SSL Certificate, TRUSTe, McAfee Secure. These are not cheap, however, if you can boost your conversions by adding them, it will be well worth your money.

First Impression

First impression counts, you miss this, everything else is useless! Your site must load fast if not, you appear to be unreliable. The look of your site must be clean and professional, no need to be fancy. No broken links, it makes you appear very unprofessional.

Conclusion

Now, you can see that being trustworthy has many benefits and it is well worth your effort. Go ahead, implement a few of these ideas in your business right now. You will thank me for it…..

“Defeating Google Slap
Once And For All…..”

If you use Google AdWords, nothing is more frustrating than having your minimum bids being jacked up to some crazy amount which makes it impossible to profit. In our industry, this is known as Google Slap. Notice that the ones who always suffer from it seems to be affiliate marketers.

Before you throw your arms up in total frustration, let me clarify that Google is NOT against affiliates. What they want is to show the most relevant search results for their users. Understanding their purpose and making some small changes based on that will help you overcome Google Slaps once and for all!

Relevance And Quality

The sole purpose of the existence of Google is that they want to offer the highest quality search results. This is also the reason why they were able to beat other search engines to grab the biggest market share in terms of search.

What they want from their results, (both organic and AdWords) is relevance and high quality content. How exactly they define it, it is not easy to explain, the best I can do is to share what works for me time and again.

Harsh Reality

You were slapped by Google because the quality of your content on your website is not good enough in the eyes of Google. Alright, that sounds harsh, then again, I do not want to sugar coat stuff and pretend to make everything sound like a bed of roses.

AdWords have their set of best practices, just follow them and your quality score will be good and it will result in you being able to get lower minimum bids. If you want to use their system, follow their rules, simple?

The Most Horrid Mistake

Dumping a huge list of keywords into a single adgroup is the most horrid mistake that most beginners do, this might be the main reason why your bids get jacked up so high.

Just think about it, how can a few hundred keywords be related to each other? Take time and split your keywords into smaller groups. Maybe under 15 or 20 keywords per adgroup and all the keywords must be within the same theme.

Improving Quality Score

High Quality Score = Low Cost Per Click and Low Minimum Bid

Getting a lower cost per click and a lower minimum bid is the main reason why you want to take some time to improve your quality score. This small little improvement will surely improve your bottom line.

Improving your quality score is simple, first of all make sure the keywords in your adgroup are all related to each other and they should all fall within the same category or same theme.

Having lesser keywords in each adgroup will allow you to accurately match your keywords with your ads, which will help you appear more relevant and at the same time increase click through rate of your ads.

Dynamic Keyword Insertion: this is a very useful tactic and you may want to check out this article by Google.

Improving Landing Pages

Keywords

On your landing pages, add your keywords in your title tags, meta tags, meta description, H1 tags and headline. This sounds like on-page SEO and it does help a lot in your quality score. Sprinkle the keywords naturally instead of stuffing them all over.

I use WordPress for my landing pages because it is easy to add keywords into my title tags, meta tags, meta description, H1 tags and headline. It is also very easy to add additional pages.

Admin Links

To make your site more credible, you should have a few administrative links such as privacy policy and contact page. This is part of the requirement of Google and since it only takes very little time to add them, why not.

Images

If you have images which are NOT totally relevant to your page, such as guarantee seal, order button and such stuff, you need to rename them with numbers. Most people will name their order button as order-button.jpg, you should name it as a123.jpg or 123.jpg or something like that.

For relevant images, name them with your keywords. Maybe your offer is an accounting software, you can name your image as accounting-software.jpg or name-of-accounting-software.jpg or your-keyword.jpg. You get the idea.

You can also put your keywords in the alt text of your images. Once again, do this naturally, instead of keyword spamming.

Incoming Links

Some people say that having some incoming links to your landing pages would also help, however, I do have some landing pages without a single incoming link yet my quality score is still very good.

Content Network

Announcement: Content network is now Google Display Network.
It is just a change in name, everything else remains the same.

Use AdWords Content Network. Why not? There is so much more traffic at a much lower cost. When you get used to it, you can easily move on to media buying where you can get even more traffic.

Yahoo And Bing

Use Yahoo and Bing pay-per-click! I used to think that there are a lot less traffic with Yahoo and Bing, however, if you add more keywords, you end up getting more traffic. Also, there is less competition compared to Google therefore the clicks cost lesser.

Best of all, they are so much more forgiving than Google AdWords and you can get away with some mistakes like adding many keywords in a single campaign! You can even get away with direct linking most of the time! No kidding!

At least for now, we can still get away with all these stuff, just remember that things will change in future, it is just a matter of time before Yahoo and Bing become as strict as Google. Therefore, take advantage while you still can.

Do not just take my word for it. Try it for yourself. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Conclusion

Now that you understand how Google works, how you can follow their best practices and end up being totally unaffected by any slap. As simple as it seems, all you need is just a few small changes and you will be alright.

Enjoy…..
